How to Lend Your Support
An Hour? A Day? A Week? A Year?

An ongoing commitment? Event Planning? Committee Work? Office Support?
You can help!

The Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester is a grassroots, community-based organization dependent on the time and talent of others committed to the mission and work of the organization. There are so many ways to be involved in this rewarding, worthwhile work.

Join a Committee
Education: Meets the first Wednesday of each month at noon. Bring your lunch and help plan upcoming educational programming. Participate in the assessment, evaluation and implementation of new programs such as support groups, monthly education sessions, celebrations, commemorations, creative workshops and more. We value your input. We love new ideas.

Research: Meets the second Wednesday of each month at noon. Bring your lunch and let your voice be heard as you participate in the decision-making process of how breast cancer research gets funded in our own region. Local fundraising efforts support breast cancer research in our own region. After all, we raise the money together… shouldn’t we help decide how it gets spent?

Advocacy: Meets the second Tuesday of each month at noon.  Bring your lunch and join in the discussion. Local issues? State issues? National issues? Environmental concerns? Access to healthcare hurdles? Questions about how breast cancer research gets funded? One person can make a difference!  Add your voice to the chorus. We have made a difference. Let us show you how you can affect change in policy or create new policy. Become a breast cancer advocate!

The Pink Ribbon Run & Walk: Held on Mother’s Day each year at Ontario Beach Park. The only Women’s 5K Road Race in Rochester takes off at 9:05 AM. The 2.5 mile Family Fitness Walk begins minutes later and overlaps with the race route.  Help with the organizing of this loads-of-fun event!

Teed-Off at Breast Cancer: The Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester’s premier golf tournament, held each August at Shadow Lake.

The Rare Chair Affair: The first Saturday in October marks the return of Rochester’s most creative, most unique, most energizing event in breast cancer fundraising. All of our programming is free and open to the public. Fundraisers like The Rare Chair Affair ensure that these important programs will be there for all women and families in the aftermath of a breast cancer diagnosis.  Local funds helping local women.
